At Chikitos Daycare and Preschool, it is our joy and privilege to provide a variety of experiences that will assure a balanced growth within your child. Full Day
8 am - 5:30 pm
Breakfast 8 am - 9:30 am
Morning lessons 9:30 am - 11:00 am
Outside play 11 am - 12 pm
Lunch 12 pm - 12:45 pm
Nap time 1 pm - 3 pm
Afternoon snack 3:15 pm - 3:30 pm

  • - Circle time
    We start our morning with affirmation that helps children to set a positive state of mind, get together and engage in group activities. During circle time, children sit in a circle and participate in activities such as singing songs, listening to stories, discussing the calendar and weather, sharing their thoughts and feelings. It's also a time for the teacher to introduce new concepts and skills such as counting, colors and shapes. Circle time is an opportunity for children to develop social skills such as taking turns, paying attention, and following directions. It also helps children to learn to listen to others and to express themselves verbally.
  • -Language Art and Literacy:
    -Our teachers help children develop their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. This may include activities such as reading books, singing songs, telling stories, and playing word games. Children learn the names and sounds of the letters of the alphabet. It is important to make these activities fun and interactive to keep the kids engaged and excited about learning.
  • -Mathematics and Science:
    We teach basic math that includes counting, sorting, and matching objects; exploring shapes and patterns; learning to recognize numbers and number words. Science activities include observing and exploring the natural world through activities such as looking at plants and animals, observing changes in the environment, and experimenting with materials such as water, sand, and playdough. It's essential that the activities are presented in a fun and interactive way that encourages kids to ask questions, make predictions, and explore their environment. This helps to build their curiosity and critical thinking skills which are the foundation for later success in math and science.
  • -Social and emotional development:
    We create a positive and supportive environment for kids to learn about themselves and forming relationships with others. We are helping kids control their feelings and behaviors. Providing opportunities for children to practice sharing, taking turns, and cooperating with others.
  • -Fine and Gross motor skills:
    Our teachers provide opportunities for your children to engage in a variety of fine and gross motor activities that are age-appropriate and that challenge them to use their skills in different ways.
    Activities that promote fine motor skills include:
    • Playing with playdough and other manipulatives
    • Coloring, drawing, and cutting with scissors.
    • Playing with puzzles and building blocks
    • Stringing beads and lacing cards
    • Using tweezers and tongs to pick up small objects.
    Activities that promote gross motor skills include:
    • Running, jumping, and climbing on playground equipment.
    • Playing games that involve gross motor movements.
    • Dancing and moving to music
    • Playing with balls and other large toys
    • Crawling, rolling, and climbing through obstacle courses.
  • Neuro Exercises:
    Neuro exercises or neurological exercises are activities that help to develop and improve the function of the brain and nervous system. These exercises are designed to improve cognitive skills such as memory, attention, and problem-solving, as well as physical skills such as balance, coordination, and motor planning.
    Neuro exercises include:
    • Balance exercises, such as walking on a balance beam or standing on one foot.
    • Coordination exercises, such as throwing and catching a ball.
    • Memory and logic exercises, such as playing matching or memory games, completing a maze.
    • Attention exercises, such as completing a puzzle or following instructions for a task.
    Neuro exercises what we provide it is fun and engaging for children, and they are presented in a way that is age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate.
